Silence of Sofia is a video work about the city of Sofia. With this video I tried to capture citys atmosphere. I walked throughout one cold month on the streets, alleys, backyards and parks in the city. I asked the city what it wants to show to me and my feet followed it’s orders. I decided to focus in landscapes and buildings and reach citys’s atmosphere through them. I could sense people somewhere very close, but didn’t let them in the footage. There was always space to find, where the hectic life of the city couldn’t reach and where surrounding revealed it’s pure melancholic nature. I was looking for the perfect and beautiful picture and occasionally I found it. I let the city speak for itself, with it’s own words.
